Jim Ponder passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 from complications occurring after a very successful stem cell transplant. He was diagnosed in January with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, (AML), which was discovered in a routine annual physical.

Since the closing of Alexander Hamilton Life here in Michigan, Jim had been the person who most stayed in contact and organized all the "Hamilton Gatherings." He relished keeping in-touch with "The Hamilton Family" all over the Country.

He will be missed by all who knew him ...

James T. Ponder, passed away on April 11, 2010 at age 68.  Beloved husband of Lynda.  Dear father of Janet (Tom) O’Connell, Jim (Kelly), Tim & Melissa (Gavin) Fleming.  Proud Grandfather of Caitlin, Meghan, Ashley, Mack, Alexis, Madison, Noah, & Zachary.  Brother of Audrey Thiede, Fred (Delores) and the late Billie Jo Grabowski.


Paul E. Hamlin, age 72 passed away on March 26, 2009 following a long illness. 

His obituary is as follows: 

Paul E. Hamlin was born on November 15,1936 in Worthington, Indiana, the son of the late Flander and Annabell Hamlin. He attended Olivet Nazarene College before joining Land of Lincoln Insurance Co. in Illinois. He moved to MI in 1961 to become one of the original founders of Alexander Hamilton Life Insurance Company.  Paul went on to be one of the leading regional director's of sales for Hamilton.  Paul was married to Stephanie for 36 years.  He dearly loved his wife and five children, Jeff, Jennifer, Jeanna, Lisa, and Christy.


Sherry Harris lost her battle with cancer on December 4, 2008.  She was a long time AHL employee, and for the past 8 years had been a member of the Policy Administration department at American Community Mutual Insurance Company.  Sherry is survived by 3 children, Kyle (21), Corey (18) and Jacob (17), and had recently became a grandmother.

She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her ...


Don Grinde passed away on October 25th, 2006 at the age of 82.  He retired from AHL in October, 1985.  Don was always a friend and a positive co-worker. Jeff his son, said that the past several years were peaceful for Don, and that he enjoyed the many friends he had made in the condo complex where he lived.  Don will be missed by the many friends he had at Alexander Hamilton Life.


Elinore Simblest passed away on January 17, 2006.  Her wonderful, gentle nature will be remembered by all who knew her.  She retired from AHL in 1984, having spent many years in Client Service.

Age 83. January 17, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Allen. Loving mother of Sandi (Bruce) Bodjack, Jill (Greg) Henning, and Leslie Simblest (Dennis Chegash).


Our friend Lisa (Wittbrodt) Norwood passed away on January 11, 2006 due to cancer.  She was a wonderful person, with a beautiful smile who will be missed by her AHL family ...

Her obituary is as follows: 

Age 37, of Howell, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in her home. Born June 24, 1968 in Detroit, the daughter of Ronald J. and Elaine A. (Thornton) Wittbrodt. She was a 1986 graduate of South Lyon High School; she enjoyed being a mother and homemaker and was previously employed with Chem-Trend, Howell. She is survived by her husband Patrick L. Norwood whom she married in 1993 in Northville, MI. Also, surviving are her children, Jason and Paige; parents, Ronald and Elaine Wittbrodt of Brighton; brother, Jeffrey Wittbrodt of South Lyon; Mother-in-law, Deanna Norwood; sister-in-law, Sharon (Timothy) Levier of South Lyon and 5 nieces & nephews.


Our beloved friend Carole Tarcea passed away on June 21, 2005 after battling cancer.  We knew her family well, husband Victor, daughter Kelly (Tarcea) Leeson and husband Thom .  She was a kind, generous person who will be missed by all ...

Carrie Russik passed away on May 18, 2005.  She will be missed by all her AHL friends.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family.

May 18, 2005, age 68 of Wixom, formerly of Farmington Hills. Loving mother of Carrie (Scott) Beckstrand, Joseph (Leona), Tina Quigley, Robert (Rita) and Tammy DeGuire. Cherished grandmother of 18, great-grandmother of three.

 


Our beloved Stella Fishel passed away February 25, 2005.

For many of us, Stella was the first face we saw each morning in the reception area, starting every day off on a happy note. She was truly a gracious and wonderful woman. Stella will be missed by all ...

February 25, 2005. Beloved wife of the late George. Loving mother of Kenneth (Judy), Patricia (Donald) Grace, and Shirley (Armond) Myers. Dear grandmother of Craig (Cheri) and Steven (Amy). Loving great-grandmother of Gibson, Nathan, Lucas, and Ethan. Also survived by one brother, Samuel Filippelli.


 
Richard Harold Headlee passed away peacefully at the age of 74, on November 9, 2004.


He is survived by his sister Norma (Paul) Cutler of Salt Lake City, his eternal companion (55 years in mortality) Mary, his children Michael (Pamela) of East Bloomfield, New York, Doug (Mary) of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Kathy of Cedar Hills, Utah, Natalie (David) Blackwell of Ferron, Utah, Carolyn (Dave) Sharette of Sandy, Utah, Laura (Grant) Campbell of Sandy, Utah, Howard (Tana) of Sandy, Utah, and Elaine (Randy) Benson of Cedar Hills, Utah, 51 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 
 

Dennis Etzkorn passed away suddenly on November 1, 2004.  He will be missed by all his AHL friends.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Kathy.
