This VTEC plastic mirror has been in production for farm tractors for over a year and is currently being introduced on automotive applications.

The advantages of the VTEC plastic mirror compared to glass include an approximate 50% weight savings, shatter proof, tighter dimensional control, reduced vibration and lower cost.

The use of optical quality moldings for curved mirrors allows for true contours without distortions in radii as low as 100 mm, and true aspheric shapes.

The blue tint is introduced into the optical quality molding assuring a permanent life to the tint. The hydrophilic surface will also survive the life of the mirror as it is a fundamental characteristic of the 1st surface coating readily restorable should the mirror surface be masked with road grime or wax.

Product line expansions, which will include both 2nd & 1st surface chrome exterior rear view mirrors are scheduled for release in mid 2005.
